Kevin is the official holder of "King of the English Channel" title at the moment with 34 successful swims including three 2-way swims to date. He has been involved in Channel swimming for 39 years (since 1968) when he had his first successful crossing.

Alison is "Queen of the English Channel" and has to date completed 43 swims including the only three-way crossing by a woman and three two-way crossings. She has been involved in Channel Swimming for over 25 years now and holds qualifications as a CS&PF Channel escort pilot. In real life she is now "retired" after 25 years as a currency trader working in London for Standard Chartered Bank. She has crewed on Channel swim escort boats for the past 4 years and will be running her own escort boat as of the 2008 season.

If you are a member of the channel swimmers "chat site" then you will know Charlie. He and his wife Sally are very active members of the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club and well know on the Channel swimming scene. Charlie attempted to swim the Channel way back in 1978 and has been involved ever since. He is one of the of the organisers of the "round Jersey" swim and pilots the Jersey clubs boat for that swim and for the "Jersey to/from France" swim.

He has been involved in the organisation of Channel swims for 25 years serving various positions on the committees involved. He has escorted in excess of 450 Channel crossings to date with a success rate of about 74%. Angela is an ex nursing sister who now runs the office side of Dover Sea School. She is also the driving force running the CS&PF office. If you want to know anything she is the person to ask. If she does not know the answer then she knows a person who does. It was Angela who put together and computerised swim lists way back in 1990 /1993 and she has kept them updated since then.

Derek is our hard working Treasurer - I say hard working as he also runs the Federation's regalia sales, crews on Aegean Blue and Gallivant and is often a r CS&PF observer.

Freda is Alison's mother and trainer, she is also "mommy hen" to all the swimmers that train in Dover Harbour and spends from May to the end of September on the beach at Dover helping swimmers prepare for their crossing attempts. Her son Neil is a CS&PF pilot and was a member of a successful relay Channel swim. Her son Karl is a Channel swimmer and her daughter Alison is "Queen of the Channel" if you need help just ask. Known as the "Channel Genera"l to all the swimmers she has spent the last 25 years involved with everything to do with The Channel serving on the various committees and donating hours of her free time.

Athlete Support Administrator for the Amateur Swimming Association, Member of Dover Lifeguards her work and her pleasure is swimming. Her knowledge is a great asset to the committee members and swimmers alike. Regularly appears with relay teams and solo swimmers for Channel attempts in between all her work for the ASA. Wendy has been doing a grand job keeping the committee advised on updates for our rules, code of practice, risk assesment policies and drugs testing. She has also been keeping our direction in line with the latest ASA and FINA guidlines.

Cliff has been part of the Channel swimming scene in Dover for many years. He is a regular helper with the training sessions in Dover Harbour and spends every summer doing more Channel crossings as well as other well know swims such as the Jersey round the island, Zurich, Windermere and many others. When not swimming or helping Cliff is often observing.

Committee - Jane Murphy

Jane has supported her husband Kevin for many years and been a regular part of the Channel swimming team. She has taken part in Channel relays and can be seen swimming up and down Dover harbour training with the "local" squad. She is also one of the Federations observers and support crew.

Tanya is another one of the people that have been around Channel Swimming for many years now. She is a keen member of the Eltham Training & Swimming Club and serves on their committee as well as the CS&PF committee. For many years she has organised and trained the many ET&SC members who have wanted to swim the Channel - both solo and relays.

Committee - Frank Richards ---------

Frank was our first President and has been involved in Channel swimming for over 30 years and has spent a lot of that time serving on committees and observing. He has a wealth of knowledge built up from assisting and observing by far the greatest number of crossings to date. He is still a very active swimmer in his local pool and well known to the Channel swimming members. He was the first elected President of the CS&PF.

Laura has swum the Channel twice and is the holder of the fastest Spanish lady record. She has been involved in Channel Swimming for many years and is well know for the end of season dinner she arranges in France every October.
