‘Charlie’ has been involved in Channel swimming since 1975 when he swam in the Capt Webb Centenary relay race for the Kings Lynn Gladiators. Previous to that he was a member of the RAF Guinness Book of Records world record relay team which swam for 57 hours from Turkey to Cyprus in August 1971. His 1978 solo Channel attempt ended in a F6 after nine miles. A couple of Windermere swims plus the Solent, a Tampa Bay relay and twenty-one lengths of Bala as the original Inter-Service Secretary from 1976 – 83 among his credits. He was also a BLDSA committee member and championship secretary for the Kings Lynn event for many years.

Angela is an ex nursing sister who now runs the office side of Dover Sea School. She is also the driving force running the CS&PF office. If you want to know anything she is the person to ask. If she does not know the answer then she knows a person who does. It was Angela who put together and computerised swim lists way back in 1990 /1993 and she has kept them updated since then. Angela is an acomplished crew mmember with a lot of sea time to her name.

Tanya has been involved in Channel swimming and swimming for many years. She is a active member of Eltham swimming club, Observer liason officer for the CS&PF. Has been a committee member for a long time and regularily takes a squad of swimmers to Windermeer at the end of July for training. She is training hard for her RYA Skippers qualifications and is an active crew member on the escort boats among other things.

Freda is Alison's mother and trainer, she is also "mommy hen" to all the swimmers that train in Dover Harbour and spends from May to the end of September on the beach at Dover helping swimmers prepare for their crossing attempts. Her son Neil is a CS&PF pilot and was a member of a successful relay Channel swim. Her son Karl is a Channel swimmer and her daughter Alison is "Queen of the Channel" if you need help just ask. Known as the "Channel Genera"l to all the swimmers she has spent the last 25 years involved with everything to do with The Channel serving on the various committees and donating hours of her free time.

Jane has supported her husband Kevin for many years and been a regular part of the Channel swimming team. She has taken part in Channel relays and can be seen swimming up and down Dover harbour training with the "local" squad. She is also one of the Federations observers and support crew.

Barrie and his wife Irene have been involved in Channel Swimming for many years now. Barrie is one of 'The Dover beach Squad', Freda's right hand man, second inxcomand & chief feeder most weekends from May onwards to the end of the season. Kevin is the official holder of "King of the English Channel" title at the moment with 34 successful swims including three 2-way swims to date. He has been involved in Channel swimming for 40 years (since 1968) when he had his first successful crossing.
